Welcome to Historic Bellefonte, PA

A Historic, Victorian Town Nestled in the Heart of Central Pennsylvania

Nestled between Mount Nittany and Bald Eagle Mountain, Bellefonte has maintained its historic, Victorian era charm while also being close to State College, the home of Penn State University.

Situated along Spring Creek, which runs through Talleyrand Park, downtown Bellefonte is home to many unique and local shops offering shoppers one-of-a-kind gifts and local restaurants to satiate the appetite of visitors and locals alike.

The creek and nearby mountains offer a plethora of outdoor activities including fishing—with Spring Creek having been named one of top streams for fly fishing in the country—hiking, paddling, and skiing.

For the history buff, a ride on Bellefonte’s Historic Railroad will take you to Curtin Village, one of Pennsylvania’s best preserved, state-owned, historic sites and home to the annual Curtain Village Civil War Days.

If festivals are more your thing, Bellefonte has got you covered, too. Father’s Day weekend is the annual Bellefonte Cruise, August sees the Bellefonte Arts and Crafts fair, and December brings Victorian Christmas.

Finally, for the sports lover, Bellefonte is just minutes away from Penn State University, home of the Nittany Lions. Additionally, in the summer the two-time New York-Penn League champions, State College Spikes take to the baseball diamond.
